Barbara Rigole, 87, peacefully passed away on January 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 16, 1936, to Lawrence and Isabel Trewern in Detroit. On August 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Loren Rigole, and together, they shared a beautiful journey until his passing in 2004.
Barbara dedicated her professional life as a bank manager at First of America Bank. After retiring, she and Loren moved to Gladwin, where they found joy and fulfillment. Barbara was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, where her faith brought her comfort and community.
Her interests included bowling and shopping, but above all, Barbara’s life revolved around her family. She had a special bond with her sister, Jackie, whom she adored and cared for deeply. Barbara’s world truly evolved around her grandchildren, and she took great joy in following their lives.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Beth (Gary) Giacobone; grandchildren, Tim Giacobone, Jamie (Nathan) Harris, and Lauren (Travis) Wolfe; and great-grandchildren, Timothy, Ryleigh, Anthony, Katrina, Lane, Ethan, Jake, Connor, and Sutton. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Isabel Trewern; husband, Loren Rigole; and sisters, June Donagan, Dolores Gadbois, and Jacqueline Trewern.
A memorial service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at a later date, to be determined, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Gladwin.
