Russell M. Nieman, age 78, of Houghton Lake passed away peacefully on Sunday December 3, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side.
Russell was born on March 12, 1945 in Wayne, Michigan to Alvin and Esther (Kessler) Nieman. He served in the Air Force National Guard. Russell was a machine repairman for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1997. He was married on October 10, 1987 to Carol McIlwain. The couple moved to Houghton Lake over 17 years ago from New Boston. He enjoyed his garden and going hunting.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 36 years; Carol Nieman, sister in law; Shirley Nieman, two aunts and an uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Russell joins his parents, brother; Robert Nieman, sisters; Sharon Haener and Susan Scheffer and his beloved daughter Sara Nieman in Heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 19109 Craig Street, New Boston, Michigan, on DEC 23 2023 AT 11:00 AM.
