Marsha LeAnn (Hamilton) Van-Y, age 75, passed away suddenly of natural causes at her home in Prudenville on Wednesday December 13, 2023.
Marsha was born on June 29, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan to Patricia Brandt and Lloyd Hamilton. She married Richard L. Van Y on September 23, 1965. The couple could be found cutting a rug on the dance floor or playing their favorite slot machines for over 58 years.
Marsha enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, traveling, crocheting her grandchildren and great grandchildren blankets, dancing and the casinos. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw, the American Legion Post 439, Houghton Lake Eagles Aux., Houghton-Higgins Lake Elk Lodge 1982.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband Richard; four children; Amy (John) Grundas of Wheeler, Jeffrey (Shannon) Van-Y of Newberry, SC., Karri (Len) Slater of Prudenville, and Jeremy Van-Y of Prudenville, nine grandchildren; Maggee, Richard, Brittney, Matthew, Karah, Jeffrey, Patrick, Jayden, and Abbe, thirteen great-grandchildren; brother Edward (Rose) Lang, many sisters and brother in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Marsha was predeceased by her parents, mother and father-in-law; Palmer and Maggie Van-Y, her grandparents and many other loved ones.
Funeral Services for Marsha will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday December 21, 2023 at Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel with Pastor Ted McCCulloch officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the funeral home and on Thursday December 21, 2023 from 12 pm until the time of the service.
