Mrs. Joyce Eilene Carter, 86 of Hillman, Michigan passed away at her home on December 13, 2023. She was born in Ithaca, Michigan on October 29, 1937. As a child she grew up in Breckenridge. On December 24, 1956, she married her loving husband, Donald Carter and in 1957 they moved to Hillman to raise their family. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage before her passing. The house they would raise their family in would be the home that Joyce and Donald built together with their two sons. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and visiting the sick and shut-ins with Donald. Joyce had a big heart, a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. She is and will be deeply missed.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Donald Carter; sons, Donald (Joan Cloutier) Carter Jr; Michael Carter; daughter, Trudy (Dennis) Gibbs; grandchildren, Courtney, Jon, Casandra, Chelsey, Justin; and two great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Joyce privately at this time.
