Ethan Allen Rogers, Jr, age 84 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Munson Health Care – Grayling Hospital on Friday, December 1, 2023.
Ethan was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 2, 1939 to Ethan and Elenor (Cushman) Rogers, Sr. He attended and graduated from Waterford Twp. High School with the Class of 1957. He then went to Moody Bible Institute from 1958 – 1960 when he graduated. Ethan continued his education at Michigan State from 1960 until his graduation in 1963. He then went to Bethel Theological Seminary from 1963 -1966, when he became a Minister. Ethan pastored in Walled Lake at the First Baptist Church from 1967 – 1992. During this time, he also pastored in Cincinnati, OH at Mt. Auburn Baptist Church from 1978 – 1984. Ethan was a member of his family church in Jacksonville, the Hendrix Avenue Baptist Church. He loved this church family. Ethan had many interests. He collected coins, loved learning about President Lincoln, and collected stamps. He also traveled as a tour guide in Russia, Italy, and the Holy Lands.
Ethan is survived by his nephew Michael (Juanita) Newman, his great niece Elizabeth (Will) Boright, and his great nephews: Jason Pankey and Eric Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Joyce Newman and Susan Richardson.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will remember Ethan privately.
