Nancy Rose, 83, of Prudenville

Nancy Lou Rose, age 83, of Prudenville, died on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Traverse City, Michigan.

Nancy was born May 22, 1940, in Midland, Michigan, the daughter of Leland and Irene Norton.

Nancy married Thomas W. Rose on December 30, 1966, Midland, Michigan.

Nancy loved to play bingo and shop. Nancy and Tom bought the Way North Motel and Cabins in 1981 and operated it until 2019. She was the deputy treasurer of Lake Township for 18 years. Nancy enjoyed knitting. She had even been a 4-H instructor. Nancy really enjoyed Christmas and Easter and will be remembered for cooking amazing Thanksgiving dinners. Nancy was always keeping up with family. She was always concerned and known for worrying. Her sons mention she went through several rocking chairs. They knew they could always call and talk, and she could talk for hours. Nancy was definitely an animal lover. At one time, the family had nine cats and two dogs.

Nancy will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas, of 56 years of marriage; sons: Thomas (Terri) Rose of Grayling, Michigan, and Andrew Rose of Houghton Lake, Michigan; grandchildren: Allison Juillerat and Gwen Rose; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald Norton.

Nancy will be laid to rest at Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake, Michigan.

If so desired, the family prefers memorial contributions be made in Nancy’s name to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
