Keith Alan Mueller, 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch. He was born on December 14, 1953, in Highland Park, MI, to Frank and Corliss (VanWormer) Mueller. Keith lived in West Branch since 1972, formerly of Livonia, MI.
He married Theresa North on January 19, 1976, in Dade City, FL.
After graduating from Franklin High School in 1972, he moved to the West Branch/Rose City area. Keith embarked on a successful career. He began as a ski instructor and worked as a cook for Fonro Ski Lodge in Comins, MI before taking on various roles, including surgical tech, ambulance tech, and maintenance at Tolfree Memorial Hospital in West Branch. Keith dedicated 31 years of his life to UPS, where he was fondly known as “Chico” by his UPS delivery colleagues. He was known by “Poopa” by his beloved grandchildren and friends. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Keith also found joy in coaching football for the Ogemaw Brown’s Peewee and serving as a Little League Coach for many years.
Outside of his career, Keith had a passion for hunting, fishing, hockey, camping, cooking, coaching, and broomball at Clear Lake. These hobbies brought him immense happiness and allowed him to create lasting memories with family and friends.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Mueller of West Branch, and his two sons, Corey (Tina) Mueller of Davison, MI, and Casey (Ashley) Mueller of Alma, MI. He was a proud grandfather to Grace, C.J., Reese, and Jackson. Keith is also survived by his brothers, Terry (Melody) Mueller of TX and Dale Mueller of Mt. Pleasant, MI, as well as his brother-in-law, Roger Card, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debra Card.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the K of C Hall in West Branch. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service until 4:00 p.m.
