Frances Madeline (Joslin) Newman, age 80, of Oscoda, MI, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, November 6, 2023. She was born on May 15, 1943 in Alpena, MI to the late Lee and Mabel (Colline) Joslin. Frances was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished raising her family. She enjoyed watching television, playing bingo and crocheting. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Linda and son, Linwood VanVolkenburg; grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Jamie Johnson, TJ Johnson, Tiyonia (Daniel) Brewer, Augusta VanVolkenburg, and Danielle VanVolkenberg. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Newman and sons, Kenneth VanVolkenburg and Marvin Gauthier. The family will hold a graveside service Friday, November 10, 2023, at 4 PM at Pinecrest Cemetery, Oscoda, MI. You may offer your condolences online to the family at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
