Ronald Clyde Couch, 79, of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday October 22, 2023 in the presence of his family.
Ron was born on January 24, 1944 in Pontiac, Michigan to Wilburn and Inez (Smith) Couch. He grew up in the Pontiac area graduating in 1962 from Avondale High School in Auburn Heights. Ron worked for GM Truck and Coach until his love of the outdoors called him to move up north in 1971. He built a home east of Roscommon near the area that his father had a cabin for many years. Ron worked for the Roscommon County Road Commission and later the Crawford County Road Commission before his retirement. Ron was married on May 17, 1985 in Houghton Lake to Joanne Rochon (Randall). He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ron was also known to be at many of the local antique car shows.
Surviving Mr. Couch are his wife Joanne Couch of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Ronda Farmer of North Ridgeville, OH, and Patricia Johnson of Sterling Heights; son, Howard Kelley of Florida; two step daughters, Debra Dowland, of Houghton Lake, and Teresa Havran of Ohio; step son, Richard (Kim) Rochon of MO; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Couch of Essexville; brother, James Couch of AZ; numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and step son, Greg Rochon.
Funeral Services for Ronald C. Couch will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday October 27, 2023 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Pastor Jeff Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held on Friday October 27,2023 from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions in memory of Ron are asked to be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
