Roger Leroy Hose, 85, of Houghton Lake passed away on Friday October 6, 2023 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Roger was born on May 4, 1938 in Houghton Lake to Winfield and Estella (Whipple) Hose. He grew up in the Houghton Lake area and graduated from Houghton Lake Community Schools. Roger was married in Houghton Lake to Nancy Carol Hadley. He worked as a Foreman with the Roscommon County Road Commission for many years before his retirement. The couple enjoyed bowling together in the couples leagues at Houghton Lake. Although he went through many struggles, Roger was a person that never left a room unless he had everyone smiling..
Surviving Mr. Hose are his two sons, Bruce(Juanita) Hose of Houghton Lake, and Brian Hose of Florida; 4 granddaughters, Elena Hose of Houghton Lake, Samantha Hose of Houghton Lake, Jessica Hose of Roscommon, and Allysa Hose of Chicago; ten great grandchildren; sister, Ruth(Chuck) Fent of Fenton; two brothers, Charles Hose of Houghton Lake, and Winfield Scott Hose of Shelby Twp; several nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy Carol Hose; his brother John Hose; and two sisters, Norma Jean Williams, and Betty Lou McGowan.
A Celebration of Life for Roger will be held at the Lake Township Fire Station, 13473 West Shore Dr. Houghton Lake, MI 48629, on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 11:00am. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Roger are asked to be directed to the family in honor of his life.
