Henry Drouillard, 80, of AuGres

Henry Drouillard, age 80, of AuGres, Michigan, passed away on September 27, 2023. Henry was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 21, 1943, to the late Henry Drouillard Sr. and Roberta Seymour. Henry was a resident of the Westland, Michigan area for a majority of his life, and he was a proud graduate of Wayne High School. After his time at Wayne High, Henry went on to several trade schools where he learned many skills pertaining to the aviation industry. He then spent two years serving our country as he enlisted with the United States Air Force. Henry was an excellent electrical power engineering technician and he worked on several aircrafts’ over the years, including Air Force One. He also worked as a college professor teaching young adults’ math at Wayne Community College before he retired from work in 1993. On December 21, 2007, he married Shirley Drouillard in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two spent the next 16 years together happily married as they relocated themselves to AuGres, Michigan. Henry was a talented man that could do just about anything you can imagine. His hobbies consisted of being an excellent chess player, being a HAM operator, fishing, and doing repair work on automobiles. He was a generous man with a strong Christian foundation, and he will be missed dearly.

Henry is survived by his wife, Shirley Gough-Drouillard; children, Jennifer Friesner, Abby (David) Looney, and Sarah (Rich) Mcenhill; grandchildren, Paige Leyman, Hailey Leyman, Paige Friesner, Shawn Friesner, Joey Wagner, Jake Garibaldi, and Emma Garibaldi; and sister, Mary Templeton (Drouillard). In addition to his parents, Henry is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Rosemary Slomers Drouillard; and his brother, Joseph Drouillard.

Per the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family plans to do a celebration of life at RG & GR Funeral Homes in Garden City, Michigan on October 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM. You may offer an online condolence at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
