Richard H. Mayer, known to his family and friends as “Dick,” “Rich” or “Richie” passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 26, 2023 after 82 years of full life.
Dick was born on March 25, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Herman and Helen (Baracskai) Mayer. Dick and Karen moved their empty nest to Houghton Lake in 2007 after retirement. Dick spent his time fishing, hunting and joined every card game he could find. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, taught hunting safety at Houghton Lake Sportsman’s Club, and pulled up to classic car shows in his blue 1978 Corvette with the T-tops off.
