Beverley Yax age 87 a resident of East Tawas, MI passed away Thursday, October 26 at Tawas Village. She was born on April 19, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Elbert & Hettie Moore. She married Francis Leslie Yax on September 4, 1954. Together they had 9 children, Kathleen (Ben) Schanbeck (Florida), Carol Coito (Onondaga, MI), Nancy Warren (Tawas City), Sandy (Robin) Pelton (East Tawas), Susan (Jack) Gardner (Goshen, IN), Leslie (Ed) Renckly (Linden, MI), Penny (Ken) Whitford (Tawas City), Bill (Traci) Yax (Tawas City), Tim (Sue) Yax (Troy, MI). Beverley was the proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brother-in-laws, Richard Will and Errol (Linda) Yax, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family was the center of her life and the most important thing to her. She entered the workforce late in life, working and retiring from Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. She was known as mom and grandma to many besides her own children.
Beverley was preceded in death by her husband Francis of 29 years, parents, 2 sisters Patricia Will, Mary Lou Cook. son-in-law Antonio Coito, brother/sister-in-laws James Yax, Charles (Ruth) Yax, Robert (Helen) Yax, Stewart Yax, Mark Yax, Kenny Yax, Marie Agrabra, Gloria Yax and Mary Ann Yax.
Visitation will be held at Buresh Funeral Home of Tawas City, MI. Saturday, November 4th between 12pm-4 with a celebration of life to follow at the American Legion Hall 1600 East Lincoln East Tawas, MI.
