Viola A. Parsons-Bailey, a spirited, friendly, and thoughtful woman, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, in Gladwin, Michigan, after a lengthy illness. Born on January 10, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Viola lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many in her community.

Viola was best known for her friendly nature, always being the first to extend a helping hand to those in need. Her thoughtful gestures, from a comforting word to a warm smile, were a testament to her generous spirit. Viola dedicated many years of her life working as a waitress in the Gladwin area. Her charismatic personality and her ability to connect with people made her a beloved figure in the community. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome, and her customers often became her lifelong friends. Viola’s work was not just a job, but an extension of her love for people and her community.

A passionate Detroit Red Wings fan, Viola’s enthusiasm for her favorite team was infectious. She enjoyed watching the games with her family and friends, cheering on her team with unwavering loyalty. Despite the outcomes of the games, she always maintained her positive spirit, reminding everyone that it was not just about winning, but also about the love for the sport and the camaraderie it brought.

Above all, Viola cherished her family. She was a loving mother to her two sons, Tony Parsons and Jesse Strandberg (Rebecca), and a doting grandmother to her nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister and two brothers. Viola’s family was her pride and joy, and she often spoke of the happiness they brought her. Her love for them was evident in everything she did, and she always went the extra mile to ensure their happiness.

In her spare time, Viola loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed their company and often shared stories about their achievements and adventures with her friends. She had a unique bond with each of them, and her grandchildren will always remember her as their loving and supportive grandmother.

Family is honoring Viola’s wishes to be cremated and no services at this time.
