John ‘Jack’ Voskuhl Sr., 93, of Gladwin

John “Jack” L. Voskuhl, aged 93, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023. Born on July 23, 1930, in Baraga, Michigan, Jack was known for his wise and interesting character, and his friendly demeanor that made him loved by all who knew him. Jack was a self-taught tradesman, a testament to his determination and hard work. He channeled his passion for the building trade into founding his own construction company, a venture that allowed him to express his creativity and ingenuity. His work not only provided for his family but also contributed to the growth and improvement of his community.

His love for the outdoors was second only to his love for his family. Jack was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life; a sunny day, the rustling of leaves, the laughter of his children, and the joyous chatter of his grandchildren. He was a man who found happiness not in material possessions but in the company of those he loved.

Jack is survived by his children, John L. Voskuhl, Vick Mastrogiovanni, and Robert Mastrogiovanni. He was a proud grandfather to Michelle, Kelly, and Anna, and a doting great-great-grandfather to Jack and Dylan. He also leaves behind his siblings, James F. Voskuhl, Robert K & Diane Voskuhl, Fred & Jennifer Voskuhl, Ursula D. & Tom Van KuIken, Deborah & Tim Bound, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, to whom he was married for 25 wonderful years. His siblings, Henry, Helen, and Walter also preceded him in death.

Remembered for his wisdom, Jack was a mentor to many. He had a knack for imparting knowledge in a way that was both interesting and engaging. His stories, often told with a twinkle in his eye, were a testament to a life well-lived and full of adventure. He had a unique ability to turn even the most mundane events into exciting tales of adventure, a skill that endeared him to both young and old.
