Lorne ‘Bud’ Cook Jr., 80, of Atlanta

Mr. Lorne “Bud” Elliott Cook Jr, 80 of Atlanta, Michigan died suddenly at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on August 2, 2023. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Lorne and Elizabeth (Hedrick) Cook Sr on August 10, 1942. He has resided in Atlanta at Canada Creek Ranch for the last 20 years. Bud enjoyed 50’s and 60’s cars, woodworking, reading, golfing, and watching British mysteries on television. He is and will be missed.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Linda Cook of Atlanta; son, Lorne (Melissa) Elliott Cook III of Romulus; daughter, Katie (Ryan) Cook-Wilcox of Brighton; grandchildren, Astrid, MacLaren, Grayson, and Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorne and Elizabeth Cook Sr; daughter, Kari Cook; and sister, Nancy.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Bud privately at this time. In lieu of flowers donations have been suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741; Elk Country Animal Shelter, 11484 Youngs Rd, Atlanta, MI 49709; or The CCR Foundation and Scholarships, 23500 Ranch House Trail, Atlanta, MI 49709.
