Winona Marie Greer, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at The Villa at West Branch. She was born on November 5, 1931, in London, OH to David and Edna (McMahen) Lamb. Winona has lived in West Branch since 1952, formerly of Gladwin, MI.
Winona graduated from the Gladwin Rural Agricultural School in 1950 and married Donald Greer on September 30th of that year. Don and Winona settled in West Branch, and they owned and operated the family dairy farm on Lehman Road from 1952-1979. Then they moved to Gladwin before moving to Elk Rapids where they bought a laundry mat. Once retired, they moved back to the West Branch area.
She was a member of the Farm Bureau, National Farmers Organization, and the Red Hats. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, square dancing, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Winona is survived by her children Georgia (Outhai) Patthanachareonphon of Grand Rapids, MI, Doug (Judy) Greer of West Branch, and Terri (John) Nephew of Bay City, MI; grandchildren Dominique, Cameron (Sara), Andrea (Matt), Casey (Lindsay), Shawn, Ashlee (Eric), and Jerred (Nikki); 12 great grandchildren; and sisters Barbara Greaves and Carolyn (Dennis) Cross.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald in 2003, brother Edwin Lamb and sister Rosanna Owens.
The funeral service will be at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch.
