Kenneth Louchart, 85, of Grayling

Kenneth Louchart, 85, of Grayling passed away on July 19, 2023.

Kenneth was born May 5, 1938 to the late Henry Louchart and Naomi Hofmeister. Kenneth was a SFC in the Navy for 6 years and 20 years in the Michigan Army National Guard. He attended CMU where he earned his Bachelors’ degree and then attended Northern Michigan College earning his Masters’ degree. He moved to Grayling in 1971 to teach shop class at Grayling Middle School and then Grayling High School after it was built. He also was custodian at the Grayling Elementary School.

He and his wife Sue have been members of the Michelson Memorial Methodist church for 51 yrs.In addition, Kenneth was a part of the Michelson church choir. He was a member of the Lions club, volunteered at Wellington Farms with Howard Taylor for 10 years, enjoyed bowling at the American Legion, and made wooden toys. Kenneth also enjoyed deer hunting, perch fishing, and gardening. He was employed by the Federal government Soil Conservation and the United States Post Office as a postal carrier.

He is survived by his wife Sue Louchart, their children Karen Louchart of Petoskey, Kelly (Mike) Cory of Muskegon, Keith (Mandy) Louchart of Pontiac. Along with three Grandchildren, MacKenzie, Logan, and Jude. Sisters, Judy Wilkinson and Paula (Dan) Louchart-Schuchardt.

He is preceded by Son Kevin, brothers Dennis and Gary Louchart. His parents Henry and Naomi Louchart.

Visitation will be held at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church at from 9:00 until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday July 27, 2023 officiated by Pastor Mark Miller. A Graveside Service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling.
