Julie Michaelson, age 75, of Prudenville

Julie A. Heidt Michaelson, age 75, of Prudenville passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2023 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.

Julie was born on July 10, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to William and Muriel (Luttermoser) Heidt. She graduated from Finney Senior High School in Detroit. Julie then went on to college where she studied business administration at Michigan State University and the University of Detroit, she later attended Williams College for her American Studies Program for Executives, she took business classes at Brookings Institute and the University of Michigan, she continued her education by taking several management courses at the National Training Laboratories, Michigan Bell, AT&T and Bellcore. She attended Harvard University where she completed Graduate School in Business Administration-Advanced Management Program and graduated in 1988. She retired from Bell Labs where she was the vice president within her department. Julie married her husband Mike on July 10, 2017 in a civil ceremony at city hall in Chicago with her neighboring friends attending. On August 15, 2017 the couple was united in marriage in a formal ceremony at the Michigan State University Chapel. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, was very active in The IBC (Inflammatory Breast Cancer) Network Foundation, and enjoyed reading.

Her husband Mike stated that “Julie was a force of nature, a powerhouse of a human, a woman who stood above in a man’s world. She stood strong in her ideals and convictions. I doubt I’ll ever know another woman as strong as Julie H Michaelson. I truly loved and admired this beautiful lady. She loved deeply, and I will be forever grateful that she was part of my life- she was a treasure I will deeply miss all the rest of my days. Rest easy my Angel Princess, I’ll see you again. ”

Julie is survived by her loving husband; Mike and brother; Bill (Martha) Heidt. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Milton, Barbara and Charles.

A Memorial Service for Julie will be conducted at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday July 10, 2023 at 1 pm with Rev. Paul Kruse officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Monday from 12 pm until the time of the service.
