Robert Clarke Wilson, age 85 of Lachine, MI., passed away June 13, 2023 in Tawas, MI., surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on May 16, 1938 in Wayne, MI., to the late Arthur Victor and Gladys R (Golden) Wilson. Robert served in the United States Navy participating in “picket duty” of the Korea coast during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
Robert was a longtime resident of Lachine and former resident of Hale, MI. He was an operating engineer by trade operating heavy equipment. He loved fishing and hunting, playing pool and going to the casinos. Robert considered himself a garage tinker and fixer upper. He belonged to the Operating Engineers Local 324. In his later years he loved gardening, animal watching, and feeding the birds in his yard.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert D (Shirley) Wilson and William C (Deb) Wilson; stepson, Mark Giorgis; son-in-law, Doug Crowton; grandchildren, Hannah (Cameron) Bragg and Randy Wilson.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carolyn (mother of Robert and William); second wife, Margaret (mother of Mark); daughter, Theresa Crowton.
Service for Robert will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Buresh Funeral Home in Hale, MI. Visitation is 11:00am – 1:00pm. Funeral at 1:00pm. Pastor Todd Vossen will be officiating. Interment will take place at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale at a later date after cremation.
