Robert Dombrowski, 82, of Houghton Lake

Robert Leonard Dombrowski, 82, of  Houghton Lake Heights passed away on Thursday June 1, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.

Robert was born on December 8, 1940 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Isadore and Ann (Krajewski) Dombrowski. After graduating from High School, Robert spent his career working in Logistics. Robert served his country in the Army National Guard for over twenty years, retiring from both his career and his time of service. Robert was married on July 3, 1965 in Middleville, Michigan to Mary Daniels. Together, they moved to Houghton Lake in 1999. Aside from spending the cold Michigan winters in Alabama, they lived there peacefully until Robert’s passing. Robert was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing, fishing, horseshoes, and spending time with his family and many grandchildren. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be missed by so many.

Surviving Robert Leonard Dombrowski are his loving Wife of 57 years, Mary Rita Dombrowski; Children, Theresa (Kevin) Fox, Janette (Jeff) Heaton, Karen (Eddie) Barber, Thomas (Tara) Dombrowski, Joseph (Maaike) Dombrowski, and Rosemary (Joel) VanderSchel; 20 Grandchildren and  2 Great Grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his Parents, Isadore and Ann Dombrowski; Siblings, Marguerite Callghan and William Dombrowski; and2 Grandchildren, Anton Giel and Emma VanderSchel.

A Memorial Mass for Robert Dombrowski will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 14200 E. Old US Hwy 12, Chelsea, MI 48118 at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be directed to Promedica-Heartland Hospice. Robert will be laid to rest at the Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
