Ruby Pearl Steele, age 91, was welcomed by our Lord, on May 3, 2023. She was born on January 14,1932 to Ira and Ruby (Grice) Soule. Her mother died at childbirth. Her father married Katherine Kirdendall, who together raised Ruby.
Ruby Pearl was as rare and beautiful as her name. She had a beautiful heart and kind soul, with a bit of spunk. She brought joy to those around her.
She married Robert Steele on August 21, 1954. He predeceased her on September 9, 2010. Ruby drove school bus for many years at Reese Public School and Au Gres – Sims School. She retired in 1997. She enjoyed cooking/baking, her flower gardens and playing euchre. Most of all she enjoyed having her family around the table together.
Ruby is survived by her sons: Douglas (Connie) Steele, Delbert Steele and his partner Patty Stanley; grandchildren: Melissa Ott, Anthony (Amber) Steele, Tanya (Grant) Lynch and Kelly (Zachary) Harris; great grandchildren: Lilyana, Aiden, Eva, Ashton, Jack, Riggs and Nash; siblings: Veda Timko and Ivan Soule; sister-in-law: Sharon Ball; many nieces and nephews; Ex Son-in-Law: Jerry Ott.
She was welcomed into heaven by: her husband Robert; daughter, Debra Ann; Son-in-Law: Donald Britt; Sister: Doris Vant; Sisters-in-Law: Edla Ertel, Marlene Norrington, Carolyn Ludwig; Brothers-in-Law: Bert Vant, Walter Ertel, Larry Norrington, Johnny Timko, Ken Janke, Ralph Ludwig and Wesley Ball; Parents and Mother & Father-in-Law: Earl and Eva Steele.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Buresh Funeral Home in Au Gres from 2-7pm. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 8, 2023 at Arenac Christ United Methodist Church in Au Gres. Visitation at the church from 10am until time of service at 11 am.
Memorial donations may be made to Arenac Christ United Methodist Church.
