Edmund Moroz, 98, of St. Helen

Edmund James Moroz, age 98, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at The Brook in West Branch. He was born on September 24, 1924, in Springfield, IL to Zygmund and Helena (Dobies) Moroz. He lived in St. Helen, MI formerly of Detroit.

Edmund served in the United States Army from 1943-1946 and 1946-1951. He was the founder of the Knights of Columbus #8390 where he served as Grand Knight and was also a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church. Edmund was a magician, enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

Edmund is survived by his daughters Beverly (Gary) Bacalja of Oxford, MI, Sue (Gregg) Haskell of Donna, TX, Debra Goodman of Ann Arbor, MI, and Michele (Matthew) Jernigan of St. Helen; grandchildren, Stacey, Scott, Todd, Amanda, Hannah, Nathan, and Caleb; and great grandchildren Brittany, Kennedy, Max, Grant, Stella, and London.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Margaret in 2011 and brother John Mansfield.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul and Hospice Compassus.
