Thomas Elsworth Conrad, age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his home in West Branch, MI surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 9, 1940, in Ypsilanti, MI to Elsworth and Bertha (Applegate) Conrad.
On June 6, 1959, he married Barbara Brown in Tecumseh, MI.
Tom was a hard-working individual who was passionate in all facets of his life. He was an agent for AAA Insurance in Ann Arbor for 33 years. He and Barb retired to their home in Hale, Michigan in 1999 and moved to West Branch in 2020. Tom and Barb spent their winters in Florida for many years. His passions included fishing, golfing, cars, watching Michigan Football, baseball, and enjoying time with his grandchildren and great grandchild. Everyone knows Tom as a kind, gentle, and fun-loving individual. Tom will be truly missed by all that know him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of West Branch; grandson Chase (Sage) Conrad of Denver, CO; granddaughters Lauren (Cody) Voss of Grand Rapids, MI, Paige Conrad of Grand Rapids, and Faith Conrad of Waterford, MI; great granddaughter Emma Voss of Grand Rapids; daughter in law Elizabeth Conrad Anderson of Highland, MI; brothers Dean (Emily) Conrad of Hale, MI, Jim (Joyce) Conrad of Clinton, MI, and Mark (Donna) Conrad of Britton, MI; sister Kathy (Steve) McCrate of Tecumseh, MI; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends in Michigan and Florida.
He is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Conrad, parents Bertha and Elsworth Conrad, and in-laws Frances and Ford Brown.
Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m.
