Clara McClemons, 71, of Hale

Clara Meloy (Clark) McClemons was born in Hamtramck, Michigan, on December 10, 1951. She entered Heaven’s gates on April 26th, 2023. Clara was a resident of Hale, Michigan since 1993. She was a loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Friend and Neighbor.

She was a homemaker who took PRIDE in taking care of her family, friends & neighbors. Clara was a remarkable cook, & enjoyed preparing meals, especially over the holidays. She was good at WINNING, when she played Bingo. Her smile would light up the room when she arrived home after she WON. She also loved fishing in her spare time. The one thing that brought her most joy and happiness was taking care of her grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her life partner Dan Tobin of the past 20 years and Corky Swartzback of the 17 years prior; her daughters, Carrie Clark-Huckins (Gordie Huckins), Chrystal Clark (Sean Barnett), and Corey Clark (Eddie Lavere); sisters, Debbie Carrick and Linda Duncan; grandchildren, Bobby King, Candice King, Brandin King, Brandi Borchardt, & Samantha England, Donald England, Cora England, Shawna England, Matthew Webb, & Destiny LaVere, Eddie LaVere, and Camri Lavere; 17+ great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she loved as if they were her own children.

Clara was preceded in death by her Mother Rita McDonough and Father O’Dell Clark; brothers Michael Battle, Charles Battle, James Clark; sisters, Patricia Battle, Carol Battle and Marjorie LeBlanc.

Dan Tobin has lovingly assisted with her care in the last few years of her life. Corky Swartzback has also provided assistance with her care in recent years. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Clara their greatest and warmest gratitude.

An “Elvis Bingo” themed “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday May 13th, 2023, at 1:00pm at Plainfield Township Hall at 415 E Main Street Hale, MI. 48739. Then a FREE Camping weekend June 9th-11th at Northern Sites Campground on the River, A “Celebration of Life” BBQ & Bonfire at the Pavilion on Saturday that weekend. (Need not camp to attend) the more the merrier. Campground Located at 1862 S. River Rd. Beaverton, MI. 48612
