Mr. Timothy Brian Rice, 66 of Mio, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on the early morning of March 13, 2023. He was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on November 14, 1956, to the late Bert and Doris (Lalonde) Rice. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Timothy married his wife, Loretta (Trudeau) Rice on September 7, 1984, and together the couple celebrated 38 years of marriage before his passing. Together they have resided in Mio for the last 23 years. Timothy loved to work on cars and remodel homes. He often referred to himself as a “jack of all trades, master of none.” He loved all wildlife and enjoyed photography. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and was known as a jokester, although he always forgot the punch line. He loved to make others laugh. Timothy is and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Rice of Mio; children, Jason (Heather) Sykes of Milan; Christine (Devon) Berry; Jonathan Rice both of Mio; grandchildren, Abigail Stewart, Avery Sykes, Emma Stewart; brother, Bert Rice of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Doris Rice; brothers, Thomas and Robert; and sisters, Theresa and Sherry.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Timothy privately at this time. There will be a celebration of life held in his memory at a later date.
