George Kindell, 98, of National City

George E Kindell, age 98, of National City, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City, MI. He was born on August 2, 1924 in National City, MI to the late George and Frieda Kindell (Prinz).

George served during World War II in the United States Navy. He was in the 6th Naval Construction Battalion that was formed in May 1942. The group was know as the Seabees. Following his honorable discharge he began a career with National Gypsum that spanned 41 years until his retirement in 1986. George also worked as a caretaker of the 5 H cattle ranch. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he was a skilled craftsman in many areas. His engineering mind led to many inventions that made work more productive and easier.

George is survived by his three children, daughter Connie (Chuck) Meservy of Damascus, OR, son Gerry (Haunani) Kindell of Hawaii, son Rip Kindell of Carbondale, CO; three siblings, brother Victor (Irene) Kindell of National City, MI, brother Larry (Josephine) Kindell of National City, MI and sister Gertrude Sheridan of Tawas City, MI. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and ten siblings, Harold, Irene, Ray, Leo, Vern, Violet, John, Helen, Howard and Alice.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Buresh Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. The place of interment will be the Pioneer Cemetery in National City, MI. You may offer condolences at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
