Richard ‘Bud’ Pratt, 79 of Roscommon

Richard “Bud” Leroy Pratt, age 79, of Roscommon, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home in the presence and comfort of his family.

Bud was born May 20, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Leroy and Grace (Cromie) Pratt.

Bud married Trudy on October 29, 1999, and even though they were married 20 years, they enjoyed 45 wonderful years together. Bud’s family will always remember him for having a hard work ethic. If he started something, he finished it. Bud enjoyed being a football and baseball coach in little league and a Boy Scout Leader for his sons, which was a major reason he was more of a father figure for many children other than his own. Bud was an avid outdoorsman, which is what drew him to want to live this far north in Michigan. If it had to do with camping, or having a bonfire, or just having lunch outdoors, Bud was all about it. He enjoyed duck hunting and to fish. He especially enjoyed cutting wood. Bud was also an animal lover. Most importantly, Bud enjoyed being with his family.

Bud will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy; children: Suzette (Frank Piekarski) Pratt, Kim (John) Vanslembrouck, Mark (Linda) Dagen, Richard (Kimberly) Pratt; grandchildren: Justin (Alicia) Drohan, Jeremy (Shelby) Drohan, Jessica (Steve) Drohan, Jennafer (Nekko) Drohan, Paul (Melissa) Stratakis, Tiffany (Kyle) Rhodes, Andrew (Lexie) Pratt, Alex (Katlynn) Pratt; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents.

Bud’s family has chosen to remember him privately at this time. They will announce a Celebration of Life later in the spring.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
