Loyd Kendall Danner Sr. passed away on January 3, 2023, in Rose City, Michigan at the age of 99. He was born in Latham, Tennessee on July 27, 1923, to the late Robert and Hattie (Griffith) Danner. Loyd married Mildred Cox on November 17, 1945, in Nashville, Tennessee. They moved to Michigan in 1951 where they raised their family. Loyd retired from General Motors in 1986, moving north and eventually settling in Gladwin in 2005. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1963. He is a past Master of Gladwin Lodge #397. Loyd received the Mason of the Year Award for the State of Michigan in 2017.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Danner (Dennis Kotkoski), son, Loyd Jr., daughter, Susan Servitto, 17 grandchildren, and 18 and a half great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mildred, and his daughter, Morrell Merrifield.
Loyd’s wishes were to be cremated and inurned with his wife in Ridge Cemetery. A Masonic memorial and celebration of life ceremony will be held later in the year.
