Joan Kay Waterman, age 81, of Roscommon, died on Christmas, Sunday, December 25, 2022, in Sault Ste. Marie, in the presence and comfort of her family.
Joan was born March 23, 1941, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Clifford and Leota (Bowen) Freeman.
Joan married John on December 9, 1983, in Grayling, Michigan.
Joan enjoyed many activities throughout her life. A few of those would be golfing and bowling. She loved traveling. She will be remembered for being a social butterfly. Most of all, she truly loved spending time with her family.
Joan will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband, John, of just over 40 years of marriage; children: Deborah Faye Wakefield, Michael (Robin) Lawrence Worden, Jonelle (Jeff) Manz; grandchildren: Dustin Manz; mother, Leota Cater; sister, Judy Kominek; nieces: Christie Kominek and Shelly (Michael) Pesta; great-niece, Kaitlyn; great-nephew, Jacob; as well as several other cousins and friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Freeman.
Family and friends will gather from 1:00-4:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023, with the Memorial Service at 4:00 PM, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Joan’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Roscommon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
