Guy Rabey, 63, of Tawas City

Guy Joseph Rabey, age 63, of Tawas City, Michigan, former resident of Harrisville, Michigan died on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Guy was born on October 17, 1959 the son of Lawrence and Dolores (Lemieux) Rabey in Detroit, Michigan.

Guy graduated from Alcona High School class of 1977, after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked as a medical technician while proudly serving our country for 6 years. Upon his return home he continued his education at Michigan Technological University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry in 1984 and received another Bachelor’s Degree as a Medical Technologist in 1993. Guy started working for Tawas St. Joseph Hospital as a Medical Technologist in 1993 and continued his career at the hospital until his passing.

Guy married his wife and best friend Elaine Croskey on October 26, 1996 at St. Anne Parish in Harrisville. Together they shared 24 years of marriage! Elaine was dearly loved by Guy and he cherished every day with Elaine. He was a devout Catholic and an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Guy was very proud of his community and enjoyed helping at local community events he was willing to help anyone in need. He took great pride in his position at the hospital, caring for patients, and developing such close relationships with his work family.

Guy is survived by his aunt Suzanne (Lemieux) Aeck and uncles, Ronald, Louis and Paul Lemieux and his sister-in-law Diane Sekely and Michael (Kathy) Croskey and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with military honors to follow. The family will welcome friends at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Guy will be laid to rest next to his wife Elaine at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Tawas City, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tawas Area Honor Guard or the Knights of Columbus. Condolences may be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com
