Constance “Connie” Ostrander, age 79, of AuGres, Michigan, departed from this Earth on January 6, 2023. Connie was born in Bad Axe, Michigan, on October 2, 1943, to the late Frank & Bessie (Johnston) Forbes. She was a proud graduate of Bad Axe High School in the class of 1961. She attended business school following graduation. On May 6, 1967, she married Lewis Dennis Ostrander, and together they celebrated 54 tremendous years of marriage. Connie was customer service oriented. She worked at the bank, Lutz’s restaurant, and the AuGres-Sims Schools. After she retired, she devoted her time to volunteering at many organizations. Her hobbies included knitting, reading, tending to her gardens, going to auctions, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her three children, Cathy (Mark) Pfaehler, Gretchen Frost, and Eric (Hilary) Ostrander; grandchildren, Emmett and Joviegh; her sister, Betty Townley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Ostrander; sister, Delphine; and her son-in-law, Brian Frost.
Visitation for Connie will be held at Buresh Funeral Homes in AuGres, Michigan from 10-12 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. A memorial service will then be held at 12:00 PM. Following the service, Connie will be laid to rest next to her husband in Cedar Valley Cemetery in Twining, Michigan.
