Mitch Scherzer, 58, of Luzerne

Mitchell William Scherzer, age 58 of Luzerne, Michigan, born on December 20, 1963 to Ray & Betty (Southworth) Scherzer, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Mitch had retired from the Tree Services for which he had worked for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and especially river hunting. Mitch had a heart as big as his body and a love for his son and dog bigger than life. He was a good son, brother, father, uncle, and friend who will be sadly missed.

Mitchell is survived by his son Masen Scherzer, his mother Betty Phillips, his sisters: Kathy Hochstetler and her son Christopher; Karen Scherzer and her daughter Kaylea; and Kristin (Kurt) Lafnitzegger and son Kenneth; his nieces Nichole & Samantha, his dear friend Debbie Gibson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A special thanks to Marty and Rene Wesler for all of their help and concern.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a Memorial on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Kittle Hall, Mio, Michigan from 11 AM – 5 PM. A Celebration of Mitchell’s Life will also be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023. He will be laid to rest with his brother Matt in Luzerne Cemetery, Luzerne, Michigan.
