Clair ‘Ducky’ Nash, 97, of East Tawas

Clair “Ducky” Arden Nash, of East Tawas, passed away peacefully at his home under the loving care of his family and hospice on Thursday, December 8, 2022, age 97 years.

Clair was born to Leslie and Anna (Roiter) Nash in East Tawas at the family home on November 25, 1925.  He proudly served our country during World War II along with his brothers, Charles, Carlton, Claude, and William. After his honorable separation from the military, Clair returned home to begin his long career working for Consumer’s Power. While with Consumer’s Power Company, Clair worked primarily cutting trees for powerline access.  He had a successful career and had the opportunity to retire at an early age and begin to enjoy his well-deserved retirement years!

Clair was truly an avid outdoorsman enjoying small game, waterfowl, and white tail hunting as often as he could.  He really loved the game of golf, and was a long time member of several golf leagues at Tawas Creek Golf Course.  Above all, Clair will always be cherished for his big smile and love of all people!  He was blessed with such a kind heart and he simply enjoyed talking and visiting with people.  Clair was a devout Christian man who was a long time active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Tawas.

Left to cherish his memory are his 2 beloved children, Anna M. Nash of East Tawas, and Carl (Charla) Nash of Cantonment, Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.  Clair is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian (Paquette) Nash to whom he married on August 25, 1946; son, William John Nash; and siblings, Charles, Carlton, Marie “Sis”, Claude, Ruth, and William.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Clair will be held at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Tawas with Military Honors in the spring of 2023.  He will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery in East Tawas next to his loving wife and son.

Those wishing to express their love and thoughts are encouraged to do so at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Clair’s name may be directed to the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
