Matthew Carter Lewis, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Las Vegas, NV.
Matt was born on October 19, 1982 to Earl and Darlene (Thomas) Lewis in Pontiac, MI. Matthew grew up in the Lake Orion/Pontiac area. He was a typical boy growing up, running through the woods and shooting BB guns. He at one time had a crotch-rocket which he loved to ride. He enjoyed playing video games and considered himself a “gamer”. Matt was a hard-working man, at one point in his life working in the oil fields. He was also very caring with a big heart, ready to do anything for someone who needed help.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Darlene (Thomas) Hale of Grayling; sister, Misty Lewis of Houston, TX; and children, Deven Lewis, Amanda Lewis, and Dakota Lewis. Matt is preceded in death by his father Earl C. Lewis, sister Lovena Thomas, and step-father Charles Hale.
Visitation will take place at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 3-7 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm with visitation before starting at 10:00 am at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Reverend Giovanna Meek will be officiating.
