Linda Schultz, 81, of Alger

In loving memory of Linda Darrel Schultz, who passed away on November 1, 2022. Linda was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend.

Linda was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on November 18, 1941. She grew up in Ferndale, Mi and was part of the first graduating class at Ferndale High School in 1959. Linda met the love of her life, Larry Schultz, while working at Farmer Jack and within six months they were married. Together they had three children, Deborah (Dan) Ross, Larry (Sheila) Schultz and David (Lisa) Schultz. Larry and Linda were able to celebrate 54 years of marriage together before Larry passed away in December of 2015. They did everything for their family and gave freely of everything they had.

Linda worked at National Gypsum/Lafarge for 14 years before moving up North and working at Griffin Beverage for another 14 years before retiring. Larry and Linda loved living up North in Forest Lake (Alger, Michigan), in their house on the Rifle River.

Linda was kind, caring, happy go lucky and cracked jokes as often as she could. She loved her family and was a wonderful Mother, always. She was a very special Grandmother to 8 Grandchildren that she leaves behind, Brandon, Kendall, Lauren, Jared, Clayton, Ryan, Ethan, and Brooklyn.

She was committed to them and wanted to spend as much time with them as she could, and cherished every memory made.

Linda also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren that she loved very much.  She is survived by her sister Sandra (John) White, and brother Andrew Lees.  She is preceded in death by her dear sister Janice Boudreau.

She resided at Eden Fields for the last year and a half and was very thankful for her many kind aides that took care of her. She loved visiting with Jan, her dearest friend that had always been there for her.

Some of Linda’s favorite things to do were going to Petoskey, Walmart, the casino, playing Rummy 500, and watching Downton Abbey. She was a devout Catholic. She had a love for all animals, particularly hummingbirds, and watched them out her windows as often as she could. She found fun in all things and wanted to party to the end. In her last days she was still able to find humor and make others smile and laugh. She made a huge impact on many people and will always be missed.

Linda will be cremated, and her ashes will be interred with her late husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The family will hold a private memorial for her at a later date.

Those wishing to express sympathy can send their wishes to Linda Schultz’s Family C/O P.O.Box 247, Standish MI 48658
