Thomas R. Cummins, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
He was born on March 30, 1942, the son of Corliss and Edna Cummins. On August 21, 1971, Tom married the love of his life Joyce Beyer in Bay City, Michigan. Tom and Joyce moved to Gladwin in 1997.
Tom was very active in our community. He served as President of the Gladwin County Historical Society and it was during that time he conceptualized the Carriage Festival and was head of the Steering Committee for 8 years. Tom was a member of the Gladwin Knights of Columbus, Gladwin Sage Golden Agers, Gladwin United Way and was President of the Pratt Lake Association. He also served Gladwin and Beaverton schools as a substitute teacher. Christmas had Tom representing Santa Claus for many years.
Left to cherish his memory of 51 years is his wife: Joyce, son and daughter in-law: Robert and Carrie Cummins, of Bursnville, MN. He is also survived by brother: James and sister: Mary. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Christopher and Judy.
Honoring Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no visitation or service will be held at this time.
