Max Guernsey, 91, of Beaverton

Max Guernsey, 91, of Beaverton, MI passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Max was born October 17, 1930 the son of Clarence “LeRoy” and Gladys Guernsey at their home in Beaverton, MI. On August 27, 1953 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Shirley Crosby in Beaverton, MI.

Max was a hardworking man putting time in working as an electrician at Dow Chemical for many years before branching out and founding his own company in 1973 naming it Guernsey Electric. In starting this company not only was he able to have a successful business but he was able to build a foundation in the community. As much as he was the business owner he never strayed away from teaching his employees.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Shirley Guernsey; daughters: Elaine Guernsey, Dottie Prince, Marilyn (Tom) Harrell; son: Gordon (Tana) Guernsey; grandchildren: William, Angela, Randy (Trista), Julie, Chelly, Dalton (Nicole), Zachary and Nicholas; great-grandchildren: Lacie, Alivia, Elizebeth, Havanna, McKinley, Charlie, and Tyler; sister: Coralee Foster; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: LeRoy and Gladis Guernsey; sons: Steven Guernsey and Mark Guernsey; daughter-in-law: Tremell Guernsey; grandson: Cris Harrell; and sisters: Verta “Billie” Tolly, Wilda “Boots” Rowley, and Bonnie Tolly.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Edenville Seventh-Day Adventist Church beginning at 1:00 P.M. The family will be receiving guests Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, MI beginning at 4:00 P.M.

Max will be laid to rest at Tobacco Township Cemetery immediately following the service.

Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home.
