Theodore ‘Ted’ Corley, 59, of Saint Helen

Theodore “Ted” John Corley, age 59, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 while riding his motorcycle home from work. He was born on February 8, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan to Shirley Ann (Roach) Corley and Robert E. Corley.

Ted proudly served in the US Air Force and settled in Waterford, Michigan near his sister’s home for a career in the IT industry. He fell in love with Saint Helen, first camping in the area in 1995 and later making it his full-time home in 2007. For over 15 years, he was deeply involved in the Saint Helen community including: volunteering at the A.R.K (local wildlife rehab), serving as a member of CERT, preparing community holiday meals, and participating in food donation events.

Ted was always there for his family and friends. Ted never met a stranger.  He was a larger than life presence full of laughter, compassion, and joy. Ted was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He was an avid motorcyclist, outdoorsman, and photographer. Ted was always available to share in the ups and downs of the lives of his community.  His death leaves a hole in our community, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Ted is survived by his adoring wife of 27 years, A. Noreen Corley. He is also survived by his loving children Joseph (Heather) Foster, Phillippe (Tzipora) Phanivong and Troy Corley. He is also survived by his sister, Toni (Kevin) Wilson and his two brothers Tom and Todd (Tammy) as well as their children who he cared for deeply.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Saint Helen, MI on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:30 p.m.

He preferred for donations to be made to the A.R.K in lieu of flowers.  Donations can be made atwww.arkritters.org or delivered to his family or the A.R.K.
