Diane Shelton, 79, of Lewiston

Mrs. Diane Theresa Shelton, 79 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village on August 14, 2022 with family at her side. She was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on December 25, 1942 to the late Albert and Ida Mae (Marsack) Staelens. In Detroit, Michigan on August 4, 1962 she married, William C. Shelton and together the couple celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing. Formerly of Sterling Heights, the couple moved to Lewiston in 1998. Diane loved the outdoors. She enjoyed snowmobiling and four wheeling when she was younger. She loved boating, traveling with the family, and crafting, especially ceramics. Her family was very important to her, as well as the time she spent with her grandchildren. Diane is and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, William C. Shelton of Lewiston; son, William J. (Michelle) Shelton of Sterling Heights; daughters, Patty (Ted) Loose of Shelby Township; Sandy (John) Coulter of Sterling Heights; Karen (Doug) Kaminsky of Clarkston; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild with another on the way; and the VanOphem family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ida Mae Staelens; and sister, Judy Staelens.

Funeral services for Diane will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Otsego County Commission on Aging, Hospice of Michigan, or the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation in memory of Diane.
