David Weissenborn, 84, of Grayling

David Weissenborn, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022, at home with family in Grayling, Michigan.  He was born June 9, 1938, to Melvin and Helen Mertz Weissenborn in Caro, Michigan.

He was married to Janice Satchell in Caro on August 4, 1956.  They had three sons, Mark, John and Kevin.

David attended Central Michigan University where he earned his advanced degree of Education Specialist in 1976.  He taught business subjects and was in administration at Bullock Creek High School in Midland County.  In 1996 he and his wife retired and built their home on the Manistee River in Grayling.  He was a long-time actively involved member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church of Grayling.  He enjoyed fly fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, sons John (Jean), Kevin (Tamra).  He was predeceased by his eldest son, Mark (Marie).  He has six grandchildren, Andrew (Grace), Benjamin, Emily, Dylan, Conrad, Rachel and one great-grandchild, Silas.

Those who wish to make a memorial gift might consider St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the donors’ favorite charity.

There will be a private memorial at a later date.
