Bonnie Smith, 69, of Grayling

Bonnie Marie (Small) Smith (69) a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away on December 14, 2021 in Florida with family by her side.

Bonnie was born January 24, 1952 to James and Lois (Granger) Small in Wyandotte, Michigan. Bonnie loved to spend time with her family, work in her gardens, and working at Wellington Farm Park as a ‘Docent’ with her grandchildren. Bonnie also loved singing in church choirs, with “The Michelson Singers”, and on stage at Wellington Farm Park with close friends and family.

Bonnie had the voice of an angel and loved to sing “You Are My Sunshine” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is greatly missed and was loved by everyone because of her kind, loving, and caring heart.

Bonnie and her husband spend Spring, Summer, and Fall in Grayling. They winter in Florida because, as Paul will tell you, she tricked me into going south for ‘3’ months—but ‘3’ days into our initial trip I thanked her and we’ve made that trip the last ‘5’ years.

Bonnie’s parents preceded her in death and she is survived by: Paul (her husband of 51 years); children Dusty (Dave) Latusek of Grayling, Michigan; Jim (Christy) Smith of Sparta, Tennessee; Nicole Morrill of Columbia, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Joe (Mary) Latusek; Brandon (Kim) Latusek; Zackery Smith; Rebecca Latusek; Justin Smith; Kyle (Laryna) Blaylock; Jamie (Andre’) Miller. Great-grandchildren: Elliot; Paul (PJ); Sophia; Samson; Remington. Sister: Jacqueline (Hal) Leas— several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public visitation will be at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home (1108 W North Down River Rd. Grayling, Michigan 49738) on Saturday, June 25th (2022) beginning at 10:00AM until her ‘Celebration of Life’ at 12:00PM. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post 106 (in Graying.

Arrangements entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
