Tom Galbraith, 56, of Mio

Thomas George Galbraith, 56, of Mio, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2022.


Thomas was born in Grayling, Michigan on October 8, 1965 to Martin “Tim” Galbraith and Sally (nee Hubbard) Galbraith.

He was raised on the family farm, attended Mio AuSable High School graduating as president of his class. He graduated with a bachelor’s in business from Lake Superior State University.

Tom was a devoted family man, a 30-plus year cancer survivor, an active businessman in the community working 35 years with his “State Wide “Family. A member of the Oscoda County Chamber of Commerce, the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Catholic Church.


He is survived by his beloved wife Ann (nee McDowell); his children Stephanie Hall (Chadd Goodman), Leana Hall (Justin Smith) and Christopher (Nickki nee Maynard) Hall; His beloved grandchildren Lauren Goodman, Connor Lunning, Caitlyn Goodman, Corbin Goodman and Grayson Smith; His father Tim Galbraith; Brothers Martin P. (Barbara Defrain) Galbraith, Mark P. (Catalina Gonzalez) Galbraith; Sisters Sharon (Dana) LeBlanc, Mary Frew, Julie (John) Bureau and Paula Galbraith and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Sally (nee Hubbard) Galbraith and his nephew Timothy LeBlanc.


Visitation 1-4 p.m., and 6-9 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, with a Vigil Prayer Service, Rosary and Knight of Columbus services beginning at 7 p.m. at The Lashley Funeral Home in Mio. Visitation Saturday 9 a.m. until the The of Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St, Mary Catholic Church, Mio with Rev. Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. Interment at the Kittle Cemetery with Luncheon following at St. Mary Parish Hall.


Donations may be made in Tom’s memory to The Oscoda County Fireworks or St. Mary Shrine Restoration Fund.
