Raymond Alonzo Sheltrown, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his home in Alger, MI with his family by his side. He was born on September 5, 1959 in Newport, RI to Jackson and Reva (Sumers) Sheltrown.
Raymond lived in Alger for most of his life. On June 20, 1981 he married Susan Russell in Prudenville, MI. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was part of the group serving on the Midway Ship. Raymond enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and fixing anything that was broke. Spending time with his grandchildren meant the world to him.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Sue Sheltrown of Alger; daughter, Stacey (Allan) Dishaw of Alger; son, Daniel (Xandra) Sheltrown of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Cooper, Marci, Brodon, Jaxdan, and Jake; brother, Charles Sheltrown; several nieces and nephews and longtime friends, Dennis and Tammy Spencer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marci Sheltrown, sister, Yvonne Juhl, sister-in-law, Deb, and niece, Misty.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Alger Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Cheryl Mancier will officiate.
