Louis Bodrie, 73, of Alger

Louis John Bodrie, of Alger, MI, age 73, passed away following a long illness on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, MI. He was born on November 21, 1948 in Detroit, MI to Edward and Dorothy (Campeau) Bodrie.

He served as a Sgt. in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Lou enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He loved fishing with his buddies in AuGres at Sleepy Oaks Campground. Lou’s favorite past time was watching westerns with his best buddy Cooper and tinkering in his pole barn.

Lou was like no other. He was always joking around and putting smiles on people’s faces. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Lou is survived by his loving wife Nancy Bodrie of Alger; daughters, Danielle (Doug) Ritz of West Branch, MI, Pamala (David) Treat of West Branch, and Patricia (Colby) Bodrie of Traverse City, MI; stepsons, Bradley (Donna) Johnson of Winter Gardens, FL and Christopher (Donna) Johnson of Alpena, MI; grandchildren, Lindsay, Jessica, Jamie, Thomas, Megan, Joshua, Jodi, Jonathon, Larisa, Karena, Robert, Trista, Dustin, Joesie, Sophia, Bryce, Ella, Logan, Piphani, Corrina, and Chantelle; great grandchildren, Zane, Colt, Jayda, Arcee, Keira, Grace, Eli, Kaiden, Julian, Maison, Ellie, Willie, Hailee, Peyton, Haley, Mason, Liam, Charlotte, Ethan, Sophia, and Brooks; brothers, Edward Bodrie of Elizabeth, NC, Mark (Linda) Bodrie of Hokes Bluff, AL, Bob Bodrie of Wyandotte, MI, and Mike Bodrie of River Rouge; sisters, Rosemary (James) Cleveland of Flint, MI and Susan (Karl) Riopelle of Coldwater, MI; sister-in-law, Kathleen Lewandowski; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tom and Phillip Bodrie, sister-in-law, Lori Bodrie, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Mary Lewandowski, and brother-in-law, Robert Lewandowski.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service with military honors at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Tim Dibble will officiate.
