Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Betty (Brown) Nickerson, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 17, 1923, to the late Earl A. and Mildred B. (Horung) Brown and in Flint, Michigan.
She married the love of her life Timothy Nickerson on April 27, 1942, in Flint, Michigan and together they shared 65 wonderful years together before his passing on February 9, 2007.
She attended church at the New Beginnings Methodist Church where she sang in the community choir. During the time that her husband, Timothy, served in the war Betty worked as a Rosie Riveter AC spark plug building and testing machine guns. Betty also loved to crochet.
She is survived by her children; Terry (Diane) Nickerson, Rodney (Kathy) Nickerson, Rick (Laura) Nickerson Ruthann (Kurt) Hipchen, daughter in law; Gloria Nickerson, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and nephew; Keith (Shelia) Isham. Betty is predeceased by her daughter; Kay Lynn, and son; Timothy D. Nickerson. She is also predeceased by her sister; Dorothy Isham and brother; Bridell Brown
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at New Beginnings Methodist Church at 1 pm with Pastor Carmen Cook presiding. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at New Beginnings Methodist Church from 11 am until 1 pm. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 1 pm at Millington Cemetery.
