Pat Bertossi, 83, of West Branch

Patricia Ann Bertossi, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at The Brook in West Branch. She was born on June 17, 1938 in New Haven, MI to LeRoy and Irma (Kaatz) Liebzeit.

Pat and her husband Joe, moved to West Branch in 1970 and opened J & P Sporting Goods in 1982. They owned and operated the family business until 1993 when they sold to their children. After retiring, Pat and Joe spent their winters traveling to Texas, Arizona and everywhere in between. They eventually fell in love with Casa Grande, AZ and the residents, making that their winter destination.

During the summer months, Pat worked at both the Dream and Nightmare golf courses. She took great pleasure in working with the Courtemanche family and the patrons of the courses.

In her free time, Pat enjoyed watching the grandkids play ball, attending to her flower garden and admiring the hummingbirds. She was a kind, spirited woman with a heart of gold. She will be missed by all.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Brenda (John) Bertossi- Furca of CO; son, Bret (Linda) Bertossi of West Branch; daughter in law, Sally Bertossi of West Branch; grandchildren, Kristi (Steve) Winter of West Branch, Bradley (Melissa) Bertossi of West Branch, Tiffany (Brian) Jenkins of CO, Tennille (Eric) Thome of Riverview, Anthony Bertossi of Grand Rapids, BreiAnna Bertossi of Lake Orion, Corey Bertossi of Grand Rapids and Zach Bertossi of Lansing; 13 great grandchildren; and brothers, Jim (Bettie) Liebzeit of NC and Ed (Carole) Liebzeit of WY.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe, son, Brian, and grandchildren, Alexis and Aaron.

Per Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later time.
