Dennis Frederick Nitz, Age 81, of Au Gres, MI passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
He was born on August 15, 1940 in Bach, MI to the late Paul R. and Emma M. (Stecker) Nitz. Dennis graduated in 1958 from Sebewaing High School. After graduation, Dennis proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 – 1960.
He married the love of his life, Betty Jane Kammerzell on May 21, 1966 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Dennis worked for Bopp-Busch Manufacturing and retired in 2003, after 34 years of hard work and dedication. He and Betty were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where Dennis served on the church council and as an usher. Dennis enjoyed farming at home, mowing the lawn, his collection of John Deere tractors, cleaning cars and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; children, Debra (William) Mull of Allendale, MI and Kim (Dan) Gordon of Au Gres, MI; sister, Marian Kuhl of Sebewaing, MI; grandchildren, Emma and Faith Mull and Mallory Gordon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Nitz and brother-in-law, Bruce Kuhl.
The family will welcome friends on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 11 AM until the time of service beginning at 1 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Au Gres, MI. A private committal service will take place in Sims-Whitney Cemetery in Au Gres, MI.
