Beveryly (Tomlinson) Szubelak, 93 of Mio

Beverly Szubelak, nee Tomlinson, was born November 9, 1928 and went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2022.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Peter, in 2016. She is survived by her children: Peter (Joanne) and Lisa Daniels (Frank); grandchildren: Jade (Chris) Olds, Pierson (Mavis) Szubelak, Indigo (Jens) Brown, Camille (Alex) Lutz, Hudson (Korynn) Szubelak, and Gavin, Mason, and Drayton Daniels as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

Beverly graduated from Detroit’s Southeastern High School. She was taught to play the piano and received classical voice training at the renown Detroit Institute of Music and made an operatic album. Beverly and her family lived in St. Clair Shores before moving to Mio with the purchase of the Mio Motel in 1973.
Beverly loved praising God through song. She served as a praise and worship leader in evangelistic services. A talented pianist, she played for a variety of churches in the Mio area. Beverly was a missionary in Harvest Missions International and served in Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Sterling), Ireland (Belfast and Armah), England (London), the Native American Nations in Oklahoma and throughout Michigan over a 20-year period.
Loving God and family was her passion. Her light will not dim and continues to shine brightly in loving memory.

Per Beverly’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 11:00 a.m. at Mio New Hope Assembly of God, 520 8th Street, Mio, MI.
