Joyce Fox, 87, of Grayling

Joyce L . Fox, 87, of Grayling, Mi passed away at Munson Hospital, Grayling with family and the prayers of family and friends on January 29, 2022.

Joyce is survived by her loving children, so Gary (Denae) Fox of Grayling Daughters, Debra
(Steven) Walker of Gaylord Mi and Kaylynn ( F. James) Stewart of Charlevoix, Mi.
Grandchildren : Emily (Sam) Henson of Belfield, N.D.; Wesley (Amber) Fox of Culbertson, MT,; Dylan (Christine) Stewart of Bedford, NY. 9 Great grand children: Jovi, Dillon and Morley Henson; Stella, Noah, & Gavin Fox; Theodore, Jan and Christian Stewart.
Sister: Janet (Harley) Pattullo of Deckerville, MI and brother- in- law Lawrence (Nellie) Ihrke of Mayville , Mi. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Vern C. Fox, son Randy Vern, her parents Hersey and Gildreth Saunders, Granddaughter Stacie Lynn Walker and son- in- law F. James Stewart.

Joyce was born in Mayville Michigan on the family farm. She was voted Miss Rich, Township, and in her early career, Joyce worked as nurse in a small medical practice in Mayville, which she throughly enjoyed reminiscing about stories of her experiences. Life brought the family to Grayling Michigan were they lived from 1961 to the present. In 1972 Joyce joined Cornell Insurance Agency where she enjoyed a career of over 20 years. Joyce was a member of the Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women, various circles and bible studies.


Joyce enjoyed their home in Florida where she and Vern lived seasonally for 20 years. She enjoyed her many friends in the park and playing Bunco, going to the pool , potlucks and riding her bike. In the winter Joyce truly enjoyed snow sledding. She had her own luge sled that only she could handle. Nothing made her happier than having her family home, holding all the grandchildren, playing broom ball with the great grand kids, reading stories to them and providing the best food imaginable at each family gathering.


As per Joyces wishes no official service will be held, but the family is planning to have a celebration of life this summer.
